How to save money on piano lessons

More and more people are trying to learn to play the piano, and I can see why, it is a beautiful instrument to play and can produce music that moves you, or music that is fast and fun. If you wanted to learn the piano in the past then you needed to spend thousands on a real piano (and try to fit it somewhere) which I am sure put a lot of people off learning, but now you can get cheap keyboards that have the right amount of keys and even imitate the sound of a real piano.

You can also buy inexpensive courses or piano tuition books now that save you needing to go to lots of expensive lessons. Of course they can only teach you the basics, you need hundreds of hours of tuition to get really good on the piano, so even the most comprehensive DVD course is not going to get you playing like a prodigy. They can get you playing popular songs and give you an understanding of the structure of music and all but the most advanced techniques.

If you follow though and finish the piano course you purchased then you will need to get some lessons if you want to continue learning, but you have saved yourself a lot of money on lessons because you have learnt all the basics yourself. Now you don’t walk in as a brand new piano player who has no experience at all, you know how to play and what to play and the tutor can concentrate on improving your skills, making sure your posture is correct so you don’t get any problems if you play a lot, and ironing out any bad playing habits you might have developed.
