A Book Stand Makes a Good Gift for Readers

A book stand is a amazing aid for any true book lover. Currently sole designs vary from straight forward wire devices like the Fold’N'Stow that holds a book at variable angles on virtually any flat surface, to the infinitely more elaborate LEVO Bookholder that retains a book in either a floor stand model or a clamp-on model that securely clamps to any table, desk, or counter top. Many book stand models work best with hard cover books, but they also can function very nicely with paperbacks mounted in book holders like an OpenPage.

The Fold’N'Stow is one of the most affordable of book stands. It folds virtually flat for easy storage and transport and comes with it’s own plastic pouch punched for easy use in a three ring binder. It may be placed on a countertop for cookbooks, or atop your desk, table, workstation, bench, etc. Wire arms with page holders extend from the back to secure the covers and open pages of your book, and, by moving the arms either closer together or farther apart, smaller and larger books may be easily accommodated. The back of the stand also has horizontal pieces that may be raised or lowered to adjust the angle at which the book is held relative to the surface upon which it is resting.

The LEVO’s most popular book stand is the LEVO floor standing model, which features a weighted rolling base for ease of movement just about anywhere. Wherever you choose to put it, it will hold your book in just about any position you can imagine. Incorporating a bookboard that adjusts into virtually any position, and combined with a book mounting system that will secure your book or other reading material, even in an inverted position, the LEVO makes reading truly hands-free practically anywhere.

The LEVO Desk Clamp on design is just as handy as its floor standing sibling, but incorporates a clamp that firmly holds just about any desk, table, counter top, work bench or other flat surface up to two inches thick, and provides the same movements as the floor stand model, without the degree of telescoping movements vertically. By keeping your book or other reading materials up off the surface to which it is attached, the desk design saves the weight and expense of the rolling floor base while still freeing up valuable work space, since neither your book nor your book holder rest on the surface.

Even though there are other book stand designs now available, the Fold’N'Stow and LEVO designs have stood the test of time and function well under long term use.
